Indianmandarins has reliably learned that Awanish Awasthi (IAS:1987:UP) currently Jt Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, may be shortly appointed as Principal Secretary to UP Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi. It is pointed out that Awasthi's appointment will be the trigger for a series of top appointments in UP. Sources say that Awasthi has already been sounded to informally start his bit to help Yogi. May it be noted that when Yogi recently visited New Delhi to meet PM and Amit Shah, it was Avanish Awasthi who was there at the Airport ro receive him. Sources also observed that Awasthi carried a reasonably good-sized file while receiving him. Further, he accompanied Yogi for the whole day and saw him off back to Airport. There are many things going in favor of Awasthi. He is husband of the country's most renowned Bhojpuri, Awadhi folk singer, Ms Malini Awasthi who was conferred the Padma Shri Award last year and further named as Brand ambassador by the Election Commission for UP Elections. Awanish Awasthi's closeness to Yogi dates back to his tenure as DM, Gorakhpur. Further, a few months back, PM Narendra Modi personally graced Awanish and Malini Awasthi's daughter's wedding.
