Acting CBI Director Rakesh Asthana has picked up as joint director (policy) A Sai Manohar, an IPS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre, replacing former joint director R S Bhatti. It is a key post within CBI. Sai was earlier in charge of the CBI's Chandigarh Zone. He had been assisting Asthana for the last one year as part of special investigation teams that were set up to probe into the VVIP chopper scam and Vijay Mallya loan default case. Bhatti has been given the charge of dead MDMA (multi-disciplinary multi-agency), set up to probe the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
