SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya and not RBI Governor Urjit Patel seems to have  emerged as the key spokesperson from the banking sector on demonetisation. That's because the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is mainly responsible for the flow of adequate currency notes in the country. But this has not stopped many from speculating and offer their learned opinions. Incidentally, Bhattacharya, who is serving a one-year extension, was in line to succeed Raghuram Rajan as RBI Governor but lost out to Patel.
