President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday ordered the removal of Jyoti Prasad from the post of Arunachal Pradesh Governor. A communique issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening said the President had directed that Rajkhowa "shall cease to hold the office of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh." It said the President had appointed Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan "to discharge the functions of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh are made." As reported first by Indianmandarins , Rajkhowa's sacking has been in the air for some time.
