Appointment of Bansal as Member, CBEC makes the Board complete

With appointment of Bhushan Kumar Bansal (IRS C&EC: 1981) as Member, Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) the Board finally becomes complete. Presently B K Bansal is heading the National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics. The post of member has fallen vacant on October 29 after Najib Shah (IRS C&CE:1979) took charge as Chairman CBEC. Reportedly, the charge of Member, Budget will continue with Shah till next re-allocation of assignments.
The full strength board comprises of a chairman and six members. Accordingly the composition of full-strength Board is as follows;
Najib Shah (Chairman & Member- Budget), V S Krishnan (Member- Service Tax), Neerja Shah (Member- Central Excise), Vanaja N Sarna (Member- Personnel & Vigilance), Ram Tirath (Member- Customs), Ananya Ray Member (Legal & Justice) and B K Bansal (work yet to be allocated).
