Chandigarh (26.06.2023): Anurag Verma (IAS: 1993: PB) has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Punjab. He will replace VK Janjua (IAS: 1989: PB), who is retiring on June 30. Verma was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Home with various additional charges.Having superseded seven officers, the Punjab government has re-designated these officers as Special Chief Secretary. These officers are: Anirudh Tewari (IAS: 1990), Anurag Agarwal (IAS: 1990), A Venu Prasad (IAS: 1991), Seema Jain (IAS: 1991), Sarvjit Singh (IAS: 1992), Raji P Srivastava (IAS: 1992) and KAP Sinha (IAS: 1992).
