Amid chaos Bihar enacts major reshuffle of IAS & IPS officers

Patna (27.01.2024): With the Lok Sabha elections coming closure and another political turmoil, the Bihar government transferred 22 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 79 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The transferred officers included five district magistrates (DMs) and 17 SPs posted in different districts. Some of them are close to Lalu Prasad while some of them are Nitish’s loyal who have been given plum assignments.Patna DM Chandrasekhar Singh (IAS: 2010: BH) has been made special secretary in the chief minister’s secretariat replacing Shirsat Kapil Ashok (IPS: 2011: BH), who is currently the IG (prisons). On January 23 too, 29 senior IAS officers were assigned new postings in a major bureaucratic rejig.
