New Delhi (06.03.2025): The Centre has appointed Ajay Bhadoo (IAS: 1999: GJ), Additional Secretary in Department of Commerce, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of public procurement platform GeM. The post was vacant since P K Singh (IAS: 1992: MN) moved as Secretary, MNRE (currently CS, Manipur). Bhadoo will assume this role in addition to his existing responsibilities in the department. The Government e-Market (GeM) portal was launched on August 9, 2016, for online purchases of goods and services by all central government ministries and departments. In August 2024, he was appointed as additional secretary in the department.
