New Delhi (11.03.2023): After CBI, a Delhi court sent AAP leader and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to 7-day ED custody in connection with the excise policy case. Sisodia was arrested by ED on Thursday and presented before the court on Friday after hours of questioning in Tihar Jail where he is lodged.

 The ED contended that the scam started soon after the new excise policy was drafted by Sisodia and others. The ED counsel said it had evidence against the senior AAP leader in the case. The movement of tainted money through hawala channels was also being probed alleging that Sisodia was part of the "money laundering nexus". 

"The conspiracy was coordinated by Vijay Nair, along with others and the Excise policy was brought out for extraordinary profit margin for wholesalers. The scam started with drafting of Delhi excise policy, which was done by AAP leader Manish Sisodia and others," ED told the court.
