Kerala Marxists transfer young Iady IPS officer for doing her job

The Kerala government has punished and transferred its young IPS officer Chaithra Teresa John for having raided the communist party district office in Thiruvananthapuram in search of criminals.

She was given the additional charge of Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state capital when the Sabarimala pilgrimage season was at its peak last month.

She is said to have antagonized Communist party leaders while pursuing a case in which the youth activists of the party were involved in attacking a police station after the police arrested two DYFI workers who got involved in a case registered under the POCSO Act.  After receiving information that the culprits are hiding inside the CPI-M district office here, she went there but could not find anyone there.

Earlier, Teresa took a strong stand against eight state government employees belonging to a Left union who are now in jail for vandalizing a State Bank of India branch here on January 9 as part of a nationwide strike.

TN Chief Secretary's FB account hacked to embarrass Kerala CM

TN Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan is the latest victim of Facebook's soft security code or using a soft password. Someone has used her name to post a politically embarrassing message against the Kerala CM for permitting women devotees to worship at Sabarimala in deference to the Supreme Court order.

This has prompted Vaidyanathan to ask the state director general of police to identify the fraudster who had posted an offensive message in her name against the Kerala Chief Minister.

The FB post in Malayalam, with her photograph at the top, went viral attracting comments of all sorts from the netizens, posing a huge embarrassment to the senior IAS officer known for her no-nonsense attitude devoid of any controversy, and her commitment to honest work.

A translation of the questionable FB post reads: “Every government has the responsibility to implement Supreme Court orders. But the government in Kerala respects Supreme Court orders only as per their interests. Even the party slaves have started realizing that those who have not implemented the order of SC's seven-judge bench are showing high interest in implementing the Sabarimala order, not because of their respect to the Supreme Court”.

Meantime, Vaidyanathan has denied any knowledge of this FB post and also informed the Kerala CM office her that she has asked the state DGP to investigate the matter.

The Kerala DGP too is investigating the matter.
