SCOPE employees contribute one day salary to PM-CARES Fund

Employees of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex organization of Public Sector Enterprises in India, contributed their one day salary to the PM-CARES Fund, to combat the COVID 19 epidemic and overcome the biggest calamity of recent times.

Reportedly, SCOPE is working closely with its member enterprises to compile initiatives taken by them and bring to the forefront their imperative contribution.

IRCON contributes Rs 15.5 crore more to PM CARES

IRCON has come forward to provide additional financial assistance of Rs 15.5 crore to PM CARES Fund for fighting COVID-19 which is in addition to Rs 5 crore assistance announced earlier. With Company’s total contribution to PM-CARES Fund now amounts to Rs 20.5 crore including the contribution of Rs 51 lakh by the employees.

IRCON CMD S K Chaudhary said, “Covid-19 is one of the biggest challenges that our country is facing and it has been unprecedented in its severity. We at IRCON, has always been at the forefront in times of need for the country. The biggest need at this time is to be united and strengthen the hands of the Government of India. We as a responsible company have been assessing the situation and have decided to enhance our contribution.” IRCON, through the years has been partnering with the Government towards nation-building.

Fight against COVID-19: REC Foundation providing food, shelter to over 36,500 daily wagers

REC Foundation, the CSR arm of Navratna CPSE REC Ltd under of Ministry of Power, has started distributing cooked food, ration, utility packets, masks, sanitizers and even providing shelter during the lockdown to over 36,500 daily wagers and their families.

 

The Foundation has already released Rs 3.26 crore for these activities and more such funds are already in the pipeline. It is to be mentioned that REC has already donated Rs 150 crore to the PM CARES Fund to support India's fight against coronavirus.

 

REC Foundation in association with respective state-owned power distribution utilities is providing food grain packets and other utility packets like masks and sanitizers. REC has also tied up with Delhi Police to provide 500 ration kits on a daily basis with over 2000 beneficiaries. REC Foundation has also released funds to the offices of Distribution Companies, Collector and/or District Magistrates of various districts across India to provide cooked meals twice a day for 10-30 days.

The National Productivity Council (NPC), an organization comprising of 200 Officers and staffs, atoken of gesture has contributed Rs 8 lakh in the PM CARES Fund. NPC is an autonomous organization under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Like many other PSUs, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) too has come forward to join hands in the fight against COVID-19. Employees of Navratna defense PSU contributed a day’s salary amounting to Rs 2.71 crore to PM CARES Fund to tackle the pandemic.

BEL has also released Rs 10 crore from its CSR fund towards PM CARES fund to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Navratna company is putting in every effort to support the country’s war against COVID-19.

Help to fight against COVID-19 is pouring in from all across and PSUs are in way behind anyone when GAIL (India) Ltd contributed Rs 50 crore to the PM-CARES Fund through its CSR fund. GAIL termed it as a humble contribution towards India Fights Corona for battling and defeating deadly disease.

GAIL's Pata Plant has contributed Rs 50 lakhs from its CSR funds to District Magistrate, Auraiya, in Uttar Pradesh. Together with combined efforts, the country and its people will defeat COVID19.

CSS Forum contributes Rs 21 lakh to the PM CARES fund

In their attempt to support the country's fight against novel coronavirus, the CSS forum, which is a representative body of approximately 12,500 officers working in various central government ministries and departments, has contributed Rs 21 lakh to the PM CARES fund.

General Secretary of the forum Paras Kumar Singh said, "The CSS Forum has made a humble contribution of Rs 21 lakh to PM CARES fund in addition to the individual contribution of one day salary to be deducted from respective ministry and department where they work."

The CSS officers are the backbone of the central government's bureaucracy and discharging their duty with utmost care and honesty. The CSS comprises of mainly middle and lower-level management of the central ministries viz assistant section officer, section officer, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Director.

A Navratna CPSE REC Ltd, the country’s leading financier of the power-sector projects under the Ministry of Power, has pledged to donate Rs 150 crore to PM CARES Fund to support India's fight against coronavirus. REC Ltd’s employees will also voluntarily contribute one day’s salary to PMNRF to aid the Government’s efforts to fight against the Corona Virus.

REC is committed to participating in corporate India’s response to COVID-19 through funds, community welfare plans and through leveraging its expertise to offer assistance.
