Congress goes more aggressive against Modi; govt remains unfazed

Congress is constantly putting pressure on the Modi government whether it is on ramping up testing or Rs 1 lakh crore package for MSME sector or asking some measures for migrant labourers or accusing a scam in rapid test kits. But the government is working in its own way unfazed with suggestions and criticism. Moreover, people appear to be in no mood to pay attention, despite more aggression shown by the Congress.

Now former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has come up with allegations of a scam in the supply of rapid test kits to the government to detect coronavirus cases saying it was unbelievable that people were indulging in profiteering from suffering people. Gandhi requested the PM to take immediate action to bring the culprits to book.

Gandhi tweeted: “That any human being would try and profiteer from the immeasurable suffering of millions of his brothers and sisters is beyond belief and comprehension. This scam is an insult to every Indian. I urge the PM to act swiftly to bring the corrupt to justice.”

Earlier he requested the PM to clear ‘bottlenecks’ and ramp up coronavirus testing in the country holding the PM responsible for this delay in the same breath. He said: "Random testing is the key to beating the virus".

India has to scale up COVID-19 testing from present 40,000 to one lakh per day. Experts agree that mass random testing is the key to beating Corona. In India, a bottleneck is stopping us from scaling testing from the current 40,000 per day to 1 lakh tests a day, for which test kits are already available.

Sonia Gandhi demanded a special package for the MSME industry with former Union defence minister A K Antony and former Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal having their own sets of demands from the government. This could be a good tactic on part of the Congress to keep the government on toes.

Maharashtra mayhem: Is the BJP hitting three birds from one stone?

The top leadership of the BJP – PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah – is full time politicians unlike the opposition that wakes up from the slumber when crisis crops up. What could be the next move of the opposition, the BJP leadership plans its answer well in advance and in one such scheme Shiv Sena -- the former ally of the BJP is trapped.

They might be able to install their CM in Maharashtra but the party might become a history in the politics of Maharashtra. The public perception in the state is suggesting so. It is known to everyone that public perception has been key to the success of the BJP from long. Right from the very moment when SS started demanding chief minister’s post not only social media was abuzz but started working in subtle way but in later phases they are openly accusing the Shiv Sena for harming the Hindutva ideology. Similarly the Congress will be harmed for aligning with the SS. If the SS and Congress are sorted out things would be easy for the BJP in the state.

So much so that even Marathies are going against the Shiv Sena that has predominantly a Marathi identity and the community being their core vote bank. An activist working in Navi Mumbai Netra Daoo said that the Shiv Sena is harming the very ideology that was groomed by Bala Saheb Thackrey. Can they tell people of Maharashtra, how would they deal with contradictions of the ideology of Shiv Sena and the Congress.

The BJP leadership is cashing in on very well on the development which apparently seems to be in the spree of marganalising its allies so they follow their dictate. So the SS is stuck in the trap laid by the BJP. “If the Shiv Sena thinks it can revolt and get the people’s sympathy, they really don’t know the public,” said BJP Party President Amit Shah, who understands people’s pulse very well.

The BJP works on the slogan of its incumbent PM that turn adversity into opportunity and his lieutenant Shah is very well executing his plans. If the alliance government of the Congress, the NCP and Shiv Sena is formed, it will collapse out of its own contradictions. This is what the BJP wants as after that the maneuvering of the BJP not only of parties, leaders but people will start.

Daoo said that people especially their voters are so angry with them that the next election is going to very dear for them as they will find it impossible to justify their decision and all such people will fall for the BJP as mid-term election is not ruled out. Even the BJP would not shy away from it. But lot more development is yet to unfold

PM calls upon Secretaries to go by his new citizens-savvy mantra

By IndianMandarins 11 Jun 2019

‘Ease of living’ is the new motto that has come from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, June 10, evening for the second term of the Government led by him. He rolled this out like a virtual mantra along with a few other tips and advices in his first interaction with Secretaries drawn from all Central Ministries and Departments at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence.

The interaction that lasted for over an hour or so took place in the presence of some of the main colleagues of the dispensation led by the PM like Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sithraman and Dr Jitendra Singh.

Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha initiated the discussion where peers heading Ministries were told by Sinha about two important tasks that would be placed before Sectoral Groups of Secretaries. These tasks are (a) A five year plan document for each Ministry, with well-defined targets and milestones. (b) A significant impactful decision in each Ministry, for which approvals will be taken within 100 days.

The last of the two reminds of an earlier Government move initiated before the polls were over to call upon Ministries to prepare a plan for the first hundred days of the Government that was widely believed to be returned to power by the electorate.

During the interaction a few Secretaries shared their vision and ideas on subjects such as administrative decision-making, agriculture, rural sector’s development, Panchayati Raj, IT initiatives, education reform, healthcare, industrial policy, economic growth and skill development.

The Prime Minister recalled his first interaction with the Secretaries, in June 2014. He said the recent General Elections, have been marked by pro-incumbency. He gave credit for this to the entire team of officials that worked hard, conceived schemes, and delivered excellent results on the ground, over the last five years. PM said the Elections this time have been marked by a positive vote, signifying trust of the common man based on his day-to-day experiences.

The Prime Minister said that the Indian voter has outlined a vision for the next five years. He called this to be an opportunity instead of being a challenge. He said the mandate reflects the will and aspirations of the people to change the status quo and seek a better life.

Speaking of the demographic dividend, the Prime Minister said it is essential that the demographics be utilised efficiently. Every department of the Union Government and every district of each State have a role to play in making India a 5 trillion dollar economy. He spoke about the importance of the "Make in India" initiative and the need to make tangible progress towards it.

The Prime Minister said that India's progress in "Ease of Doing Business", should reflect in greater facilitation for small businesses and entrepreneurs. He said each Ministry of the Government should focus on "Ease of Living."

The Prime Minister said water, fisheries, and animal husbandry, had to be important areas for the Government.

He lauded Secretaries for their vision, commitment and energy to take the country forward. He urged those present to use technology to improve outcomes and efficiency in each department.

Modi observed that all departments must seek to leverage and be geared up to the upcoming milestone of 75 years of independence in 2022. This could inspire people to make a contribution for the betterment of the country. He urged everyone to hit the ground running, to fulfil the aspirations of the people.
