Shah tells BJP leaders to reach out every stakeholder in J&K

With Union Home minister and BJP president Amit Shah asking officials of Jammu and Kashmir government to go back to work, it seems to be an indication for a crackdown on them once J&K and Ladakh administration takes a new shape after October 31.

Shah was meeting with the BJP leaders of the state to take stock of the situation and he told them that they must try every bit to prevail normalcy in the state. They must also reach out to every stakeholder in the state including NGOs and religious leaders.

But in case the government officials who are small in number do not come to work giving any excuse, the government is likely to take appropriate action with central officials taking over the J&K and Ladakh administration.

Kashmir Call: Kalsi sent to Kashmir as SP ACB

As Indianmandarins had already reported that a new team of bureaucrats are being selected for Jammu & Kashmir and Laddakh to be posted there. In one such first move since Parliament abrogated Article 370 in the state and bifurcated it into two Union Territories, Union Ministry for Home Affairs has appointed Sagar Singh Kalsi (IPS:2010:AGMUT) as Superintendent of Police in the Valley’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The Union Territories of J&K and Ladhak will come into existence on October 31.

LGs and AIS officers to be finalised for UTs of Ladakh and J&K by Oct 31

By IndianMandarins 10 Sep 2019

The Centre is getting ready to deal with intricate administrative matters in J&K with its newly attained status of Union territory after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A from the state. The government plans to appoint LGs in J&K and Ladakh on October 31 that is birthday of first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in bringing these states to India. The government will enact other administrative changes in these UTs.

The primary concern of the government has been to provide good governance and for that the government is working on the names of All India Service officers to be deployed there. With J&K turning into a UT administration including the police will be with the Centre. So it is being said that names of the IAS officers to be posted in J&K have been decided by Nripendra Mishra while call on IPS officers will be taken by Ajit Dobhal obviously with the consultation of Union Home minister Amit Shah.

Administrative control in J&K will help establish peace in the state which as per government claims is peaceful after the special status was repealed from there. Taking administration into its hands has been key to turn J&K into UTs. The government is also working to de-radicalize the region.

Modi’s mission and Shah’s action earn brand equity

By IndianMandarins 07 Sep 2019

After the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A, J&K is returning to normalcy. Connectivity is retrieved and restrictions are lifted. The Govt has claimed that not a single casualty has taken place over a period of 30 days.

The flawless execution of ‘Mission Kashmir’ has apparently become the brand equity of Union Home Minister Amit Shah -- the most trusted lieutenant of the PM Modi. The government sorted out several tough tasks be it demonetisation, triple talaq, surgical strike and smashing the special status of Kashmir.

Amid oppositions from within and outside, Modi-Shah has not only nullified its attack but alienated Pakistan with its exhaustive home work before executing its plan. They did not allow the matter to get leaked to anyone at the home front.

There has been a general practice that all party meeting is convened before taking such big decisions but whenever the matter is discussed at all party meeting it is mostly recommended to Parliamentary Standing Committee and always remains in Limbo forever of which women reservation bill is a testimony.

The government played emotional card, divided opposition on the issue of Nationalism, put security arrangements well in place, Valley was cleansed from terrorists. But the government appeared resolute even if it had to evacuate Amarnath pilgrims and tourists in Kashmir facing their ire.

It is not that things remained hunky dory for the duo. The issue of demonetisation is still debatable, GDP has gone down to 5 per cent, cleanliness mission of Ganga proved to be a damp squib, unemployment still haunts the country but Modi-Shah duo take everything to a logical conclusion come what may.

The government neither succumbed to the pressure of political parties nor civil society on any of the issues as mentioned above. Moreover, they are rather preparing road map for J&K to ensure smooth elections in the state. BJP’s organizational structure is working day in and day out to ensure a win. De-radicalisation is another plan on which the government is very serious about in its K plan.

‘Kashmir is Free’: A stunning novel indeed

By IndianMandarins 25 Dec 2018

A 1979 batch J&K cadre IAS officer, Arun Kumar, and his son, Prasenjeet Kumar, have penned a thrilling novel ‘Kashmir is Free’.

Spread over 48 chapters and 70,000-words, KASHMIR IS FREE is a politico-bureaucratic, what-if peep into a not-too-distant fictional future when Kashmir attains freedom from India, not because of the daily violence perpetrated by stone-throwing mobs and their suicidal military backers in Pakistan, but because India walks out on its own.

Now, why should that happen? And what will then happen to the regions of Jammu and Ladakh? The book focuses on these and other questions in its fictional plot.

Having served the nooks and crannies of J&K for over 37 years, Arun Kumar is more than qualified to do justice to this thrilling plot.

The book is co-authored by his son Prasenjeet Kumar, who too has watched Kashmir from very close quarters with his parents.

Do check out the book if you have some time.

It is available worldwide in both print and eBook version from online retailers like Amazon. The hardcover edition, published by Manas Publications, may also be available with a bookseller near you in India. Here are the links:
