BJP to train its MPs on public speaking, ideology in a two day camp

New Delhi: To tell its lawmakers how to behave, the ruling party at the Centre -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -- has planned a two-day training camp in the Balayogi Auditorium in New Delhi on August 3-4, 2019. Every member of Parliament of the BJP from both the houses will have to compulsory show up at the event to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with many other senior leaders.

The BJP leaders are of the view that this is an attempt of the saffron outfit to train and sensitise all its 381 members of Parliament on the issues related to parliamentary practice, debates, party ideology, public speech, handling media and even the internal issues of the party.

The meeting is important because of the fact that training session would give clarity to the BJP MPs on ideological issues which is important for the BJP. They will also be told not to speak out of turn and on such subjects that they are not well equipped with. The meeting will not only attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on both days but he is likely to speak at the event as well.

Sources in the BJP said that the meeting will also be addressed by speakers not only from the BJP but outside the party as well on specialized subjects. Besides the PM and Union Home minister Amit Shah, there is a possibility that party general secretary and in-charge of BJP training cell Muralidhar Rao might also address it. All the MPs have been asked to attend this meeting without a miss. Actually the BJP wants to pull string on some of motor mouths in the party by telling them how to speak saving the party from any unnecessary controversy and embarrassment due to some of its own leaders.

Sources further informed that this is a hectic meeting that would start at 9 am and would finish at 9 pm. MPs will get breakfast, lunch and dinner at the venue itself. Training cell of the BJP has major role to play in it as it is continuously doing the same but at smaller level. It will take up many issues including etiquette and how to deal with media which is a major concern of the party.

Sources are not ready to divulge any further detail about the programme but the purpose of the entire exercise is to ensure that certain basic things are required for a MP, minister and people having organizational responsibilities.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) too keeps on doing such training camps for its workers but this would be the first such event when all BJP MPs will be participating in such a mega event that is dubbed as (Abhyas Varg).

Aparna raring for North Pole summit

By IndianMandarins 04 Apr 2019

The 2002 UP cadre IPS officer, Aparna Kumar, is on her way to climb the North Pole summit.

According to an official release, on April 4, the courageous female officer will start her journey to the North Pole, 178.6 kilometer-trek from Norway’s Oslo. In addition to that, the gutsy cop will also make the third attempt to scale Mount Denali in July this year.

It may be recalled that the Dehradun-based ITBP DIG had successfully reached the South Pole on January 13 after walking 111 kilometers on snow and unfurled the National and Indo-Tibetan Border Police flags at the summit. During the entire voyage, she had 35 kilograms equipment on her back.

So far, she has scaled the top six mountain peaks of six continents across the globe.

Given below is a summary of things about Aparna:

She had previously worked as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Telecom in Lucknow. She is the first woman officer (all-India services) to have climbed up Antarctica’s highest peak, Mount Vinson Massif, after climbing Mount Everest.

She was always fascinated by the mountains. She got into a basic mountaineering course at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports for a month in Manali in 2013, following which she did an advanced course in 2014.

Accompanied by a 10-member team of mountaineers from various countries, Aparna hoisted the Tricolour and the flag of the Uttar Pradesh Police Service on Mount Vinson Massif on January ’17 when the area was iced over in -35 degrees temperatures.

The group was disconnected from each other for nine days. After suffering from mild frostbite and losing over six kilos, Aparna returned to India on February 5 and recovered gradually.

Some of her greatest summits are: Climbing up Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2014, the highest peak in Africa. The same year in November, she was on the Carstensz Pyramid peak in the West Papuan province of Indonesia, the highest peak in Australia and the Oceania region. Rewarded again as the first IPS officer to achieve the feat.

In March 2015, she was awarded the ‘Rani Lakshmi Bai Puraskar’ by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav for her achievements.

On the Republic Day, 2016, she was honored with the special DGP Commendation Disc for her notable achievements.

The energetic mountaineer also became the first Indian woman to climb Mt Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth highest peak in the world, in 2017. She accomplished this feat on 25th September.

On her South pole conquest, several leaders including Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal congratulated and praised her on social media platforms.
