The buzz has started doing rounds that one more bureaucrat from Gujarat may soon be brought at Centre. The latest buzz suggests that the former Chief Secretary (Gujarat) D Jagtheesa Pandian (Rtd IAS:1981:GJ) may shortly be appointed as Advisor to the Union Power Minister. PM's declaration from the rampart of Red Fort to ensure electricity distribution lines to 18,500 power-less villages (in the country in next 1000 days) has added to the speculations that PM would have specific alternative strategic plans to monitor such developments in power sector.
In case the buzz becomes true Pandian would move to Delhi as Advisor Power Minister. Pandian had taken over as CS from Varesh Sinha on October, 2014 and handed over the baton to G R Aloria on May 30 this year. Pandian's name had consistently been doing rounds that sooner or later he would be brought at Centre. Earlier his name had been in circulation for Member CIC as well.
