As reported first by Indianmandarins (see web link below) Yatendra Kumar (IAS:1996:TR), on 22 March 2017, was prematurely repatriated to his cadre state for voluntary retirement from service (VRS). He was appointed as CVO, Airport Authority of India (AAI) on 07 October 2015 and had the tenure until October 2018. Indianmandarins had reported (23rd December 2016) that the Manipur-Tripura cadre officer had applied for VRS for a variety of reasons. In the power corridors, Yatendra is considered a no-nonsense officer with competence and strong credentials and has been awaiting his empanelment as Joint Secretary in Govt of India for long. Insiders say that the Chief Vigilance Commissioner had scolded him badly during a meeting last year which was attended by a large gathering of officers. This public humiliation might have prompted him to seek the VRS.
