With the extended tenure of Telangana Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma (IAS:1982:TL) to end shortly, two names have emerged as the most prospective candidate for the top job.
Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Shekhar Prasad Singh (IAS:1983:TL) is said to have become the first choice of the Govt whereas Ms Ranjeev R Acharya (IAS:1983:TL) is an equally powerful contender.
Reportedly, the Govt is still considering giving another extension to Rajeev Sharma, who will completing his tenure on 30th November 2016. However, the Centre may not approve such a proposal. It may be noted that three officers belonging to the 1982 batch would have become stronger claimants if they had adequate tenure in service. Pradeep Chandra (IAS:1982:TL) is retiring on 31 December 2016 and M G Gopal (IAS:1982:TL) and Vinamra Agrawal (IAS:1982:TL) are also retiring the same day.
