New Delhi (01.07.2023): The Centre has approved six-month’s extension to the service tenure of West Bengal chief secretary Hari Krishna Dwivedi (IAS: 1988: WB). Dwivedi will now continue as the state chief secretary till December as the Union Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved his extension. The state government in March this year had written to the DoPT requesting an extension of Dwivedi's service for another six months. Dwivedi became chief secretary on June 1, 2021, following the retirement of Alapan Bandyopadhyay.
