Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is known for his firefighting ability. In Parliament and outside, he has aggressively defended and promoted the PM and the country's interests. On May 8, as the presiding officer of the Governing Council of UN-Habitat, he ensured that a Palestinian proposal condemning Israel's plans to expand its settlements in the West Bank was substantially diluted and not put to vote. NaMo is scheduled to visit Israel in July and a lot of things are at stake. So Naidu spoke to the two blocks - one supporting the Palestinian terrorist state and the other Israel which is fighting for its survival in the hostile and murderous Arab world - and persuaded them not to put even the diluted motion to vote. The diluted motion was finally adopted without anyone's sensitivity being ruffled.
