'Indianmandarins' has reliably learnt that the selection process for MD, Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) is in final stage.
Reportedly, Ms Vanita Sharma (IRS IT:1994) may shortly be appointed as MD FDDI, a post under the Ministry of Commerce & Industries. Presently Ms Sharma is posted at DG HQ (Investigation), CBDT.
The post fell vacant after Rajeev J Lakhara (IRS IT:1992) repatriated to his parent cadre (CBDT) who headed the premiere institute since 03 February 2005.
Currently, Sameer Srivastava (IRS IT) is officiating as MD, FDDI.
