UP CS: Extension Vs appointment, D S Mishra the frontrunner

three possibilities doing rounds in the power corridors of Lucknow but
Indianmandarins has learnt from the top reliable sources that Union Urban
Development Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra (IAS:1984:UP) may be appointed as
the next Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. The outgoing CS Anup Chandra
Pandey (IAS:1984:UP) is completing his extended tenure on 31.08.2019. He was
given six months extension ahead of his retirement i.e. 28.02.2019. There are rumours that Union
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal (IAS:1982:UP) is also in the reckoning for
the post. Rumours also say that the incumbent may be given three months’
extension. The proponents of these theories say that D S Mishra is unwilling
and may chose to stay at Centre. But Indianmandarins has
learnt that Mishra is willing and may be drafted as the new UP CS.
