RJD leader Lalu Prasad has started training his sons into his tradecraft. For this purpose, he has his two trusted IAS officers transferred to the departments held by his sons. The younger son Teajswi Yadav is Deputy Chief Minister and holds three ministries including public works department that oversees all civil contracts including road construction. The elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, too, holds three departments that, interestingly, include the health portfolio as well. To help out Tejaswi and Tej Pratap run their road construction and health departments to the optimum efficiency level, the new Bihar government has notified the appointment of Sudhir Kumar (IAS:1982:BH) as Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department. Kumar, who has replaced Arun Kumar Singh, is said to be close to Lalu Prasad. Likewise, R.K. Mahajan (IAS:1987:BH) has been moved from the Education Department to the Health Department as Principal Secretary. Mahajan had served as Executive Director (Public Grievances) in the Railway Ministry when Lalu Prasad held the portfolio during UPA-I.
