Two serving GoI secretaries may be laterally shifted in the next round of secretary-level appointments. Reportedly, the departments they head are nationally critical. It is believed the timing of their transfer would be political to ward off negative interpretations. Indianmandarins has learnt that both secretaries were seen as lacking drive and initiative and have been blamed for the recent flak that the government received in poor management in respective departments.
