Tourism: Bihar & Kerala Rural Circuits to be completed by 2022

788New Delhi (03.12.2021): Under the ‘Swadesh Darshan’ scheme, Union Ministry of Tourism has identified Rural Circuit as one of the 15 thematic circuits with the primary objective to create tourism infrastructure at the selected sites/destinations and to enhance visitor experience/satisfaction. For example, Bihar Rural Circuit envisages Bhitiharwa-Chandrahia-Turkaulia known as Gandhi Circuit is expected to be completed by March 31, 2022. In FY 2017-18, the Centre released Rs 35.72 Cr as against the budget allocation of Rs 44.65 Cr. Further, Kerala Rural Circuit (Malanad Malabar Cruise Tourism Project) is expected to be completed by December 2022. For the project the Centre has released Rs 23.77 Cr during the FY 2018-19 as against the total allocation of 80.37 Cr.
