Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that in one of the rarest cases of its kind, a top central PSU executive, holding a board-level position, has landed himself in trouble. Reportedly, the officer under question holds the post of Director (Commercial) in a 'Navratna' PSU under a ministry housed in Udyog Bhawan. The officer has been charged with altering his date of birth. As per the records available with his cadre, he was born in 1959 whereas the records available with the PSU show him as born in 1961.
The manipulation, if any, gets the top executive two extra years of service which makes a big difference in one's career prospects. Sources said the matter has reached the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) which is said to be examining the matter.
