New Delhi (15.07.2025): The Tamil Nadu government has appointed four IAS officers -- -- J Radhakrishnan (IAS: 1992: TN), Gagandeep Singh Bedi (IAS: 1993: TN), Dheeraj Kumar (IAS: 1993: TN), and P Amudha (IAS: 1994: TN) -- as its spokespersons. The initiative is seen as part of the government’s efforts to ensure that its functions, plans, welfare programmes, and information reach members of the public efficiently through the media.
Secretaries of the departments would provide information on department-based announcements and their achievements to the respective spokesperson who has been allocated the portfolio. After verifying the veracity of the information, the government spokespersons would disseminate it to the media on the advice of the Chief Secretary.
This is the first time the government of Chief Minister M K Stalin has named spokespersons after he assumed office in May 2021. All the four officers are of the rank of Additional Chief Secretary, and of the 1992, 1993, and 1994 batches of the Indian Administrative Service.
