Usually, a feedback is taken for a purpose and once it is through the matter ends. But sometimes it has other dimensions as well.
Recently, a Joint Secretary's central deputation tenure was extended. The minister concerned and 'the senior most official' of the ministry were asked from the office of 'the highest authority' whether it was a fit case for extension or not. The Minister said 'no' whereas the view of 'the senior most official' was in favor of the JS. After the officer was given an extension, the 'senior most officer' was asked to explore as what was the reason for the minister opposing the extension. This is the degree of alertness of the 'highest authority' about the feedback process.
Similarly, months back, an Additional secretary was appointed in the same ministry and the minister was not aware till the time the ACC order was issued. Incidentally, the minister also holds an important post in the party.
