Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that as many as nine senior IPS officers have applied for the post of Director General, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). An IRS (IT) officer has also reportedly joined the race.
The post fell vacant following the appointment of Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar (IPS:1983:UP) as DG, CRPF in last week of April.
Among those who are said to have applied for the post include Kuldip Singh (IPS:1986:WB), Bijay Kumar Sharma (IPS:1986:OR), Prabhat Singh (IPS:1985:UT), Hitesh Chandra Awasthy (IPS:1985:UP), Rajiv Vijay Nabar (IRS IT), Pratap V Philip (IPS:1987:UP), Rajinder Pal Singh (IPS:1987:UP) and Alok Kumar Pateria (IPS:1986:MP).
Reportedly, the process of appointment may take more than a month as nothing has been done so far to shortlist the candidates.
