For Andhra Pradesh to rank first among the states in the Ease Of Doing Business (EODB), it was a lot of hard work done by officials. Encouraged by state CM Jagan Reddy, officials led by Dr. Rajat Bhargava (IAS:1991:AP), Special CS Revenue, CT Excise and Registration (earlier Special CS Industry) went through a series of brainstorming sessions to work out and implement the ideas to raise the status of the state to No. 1 position. After holding a series of brainstorming sessions through the state involving a huge number of stakeholders including investors and industrialists, 187 reforms in 12 sectors were executed between June and August 2019, followed by the revalidation of data and a survey done by GOI between Feb and March 2020. Remarkably, the state also extended its reforms to ports within its domain to achieve the first rank.
