At 22, Sushree of Kerala is the youngest person to qualify for the civil services examination this year.
Daughter of a former Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, she qualified the exam in her first attempt and secured 151st rank.
Her father, PT Sunil Kumar, was part of the Special Protection Group (SPG) between 2004 and 2010. He was also on the security team protecting former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Naturally, the CRPF is pleased with the achievement of Sushree. The official Twitter handle of the force wrote: "CRPF congratulates Inspector (Retd) PT Sunil Kumar on the success of his daughter Sushree. The member of CRPF family is the youngest to qualify the civil service exam this year. The native of Kollam, Kerala, secured 151st rank in her first attempt. We wish her a bright future."
Speaking of Sushree's achievement, Sudeep Lakhtakiya, Director General of the National Security Guard said, "This is a joyous moment for the SPG." Sunil used to report to Lakhtakiya when he was on deputation with the SPG.
Recalling her childhood memories, Sushree says in 2008, when she was 14 years old, she once got an opportunity to present a bouquet to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gurcharan Kaur.
Sushree says she was also impressed by the senior IAS officers who came to meet PM Singh. She adds that she was mentored by N Ramachandran, former DGP of Assam and Meghalaya.
