Additional secretary to the
government of India for public grievances V Srinivas (IAS:1989:RJ) has advised district
collectors of Jaipur and Sikar to intervene in denial of bank loans to the
small and micro industries. His instructions followed the complaints made by
trade body representatives that certain banks have intentionally been denying
loans to the small industries. The complaints were made during a
meeting of trade representatives held under the 100-day campaign of the central
government to boost micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). In a series of campaign meetings
of Jaipur and Sikar businessmen at the state industries department headquarters
on Wednesday, the delay in sanction of bank loans emerged as a major grievance
of trade representatives even though the government has proposed a 59-minute
window for sanction of loan to MSME sector.
