Indianmandarins has learnt that Ms Sonia Sethi Bali (IAS:1994:MH) may not take up her new assignment as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture. Currently, Ms Sethi is serving as Transport Commissioner in Maharashtra. Insiders say that her unwillingness to take up the central assignment could be possibly explained by the fact that, during much of her career, she has handled issues relating to PWD, infrastructure, transport, health & family welfare and revenue. Clearly, the new assignment does not suit her work profile. Yet, one has to wait and watch.
