Antananarivo: With the installation of an 8 KW solar power plant on its rooftop, Indian Embassy in Madagascar will become the first solar-powered Indian Embassy on the Gandhi Jayanti day tomorrow. The occasion will also mark the grand finale of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi
The solar-powered ‘clean and green’ Indian Embassy will be jointly inaugurated by Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of Madagascar, Raharinirina Baomiavotse Vahinala, and Abhay Kumar, Ambassador of India. Both India and Madagascar are members of the International Solar Alliance which aims to promote solar energy to fight climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution.
The event will be broadcast live on Twitter and the FB page of the Embassy at 14:30 hours Madagascar time tomorrow.
