Former Finance Secretary Shaktikanta
Das (Retd IAS:1980:TN) has been appointed new Governor of Reserve Bank of India; a
post which fell vacant yesterday following the resignation of Urjit Patel. As
per the government’s announcement he will have a three years long tenure in the office. Das, Finance Secretary
designate, retired in June last year from the post of Secretary, Department of
Economic Affairs.
