Senior Union Secretary likely to be replaced month before retirement?

New Delhi (25.12.2024): Ahead of a likely Secretary-level reshuffle by the second week of January 2025, a senior Union Secretary holding an important portfolio is expected to be replaced. Though it does not sound much convincing as the Union Budget is approaching fast. Moreover, the said officer is retiring in the next couple months.It may be underlined that at least five Secretary-level positions are lying vacant in the Government of India that includes DoPT, Revenue, DPE, Higher Education and Culture. If the rumour turns out to be true, there will be a sixth vacancy creating space for those waiting their turn for posting as Secretary.
