senior-cbi-officials-given-extensionMany senior CBI officials have reportedly been given extension in tenure in view of the pending vacancies at Jt Director level post which has created cascading effect on DIG and SP level posts in CBI. A CVC-led panel has reportedly given a go ahead to extend the tenure of some key officers. Tenure of A Y V Krishna (IPS:1995:AM) has been extended till 17 January 2020 w.e.f 18 July 2018 whereas the tenure of Sai Manohar Aramane (IPS:1995:MP) has been extended till April 2019 w.e.f 17 July 2018. It may be noted that Aramane is part of a SIT handling bank fraud case involving Vijay Mallya. Further, the government has cleared extension in tenure of another JD-rank official, Manish Kishore Sinha (IPS:1996:J&K), till 30 November 2018, currently in the middle of NDC Course. Among others whose tenure have been extended included a DIG (Administration) Anish Prasad (IPS) who was repatriated in May to his cadre state Tripura. His tenure has been extended till 05 May 2020 w.e.f 03 June. Tenure of Prem Kumar Gautam has also been extended (w.e.f 27 Jan 2018) until the date the CBI gets permission or further direction from the Supreme Court as he is handling the coal block allocation scam cases monitored by the Apex Court.
