In the selection interview held today (09 Feb. 2015), PESB has selected Subir Chandra (GM, MCL/CIL) for the post of Director (Technical), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). As many as 10 candidates had appeared before the selection board. They are: 1. R K MANJHI, CGM, SECL/CIL 2. R K NIGAM, GM, SECL/CIL 3. A K SINGH, GM, WCL/CIL 4. J L SINGH, GM, CCL/CIL 5. AJOY KUMAR, GM, ECL/CIL 6. SUBIR CHANDRA, GM, MCL/CIL 7. AMALESH KUMAR, GM, MCL/CIL 8. C E KINDO, ED, NMDC 9. A K SHUKLA, GM, NMDC 10. D L SUTHAR, ASST. GM, HINDUSTAN COPPER LTD. Presently, two crucially important posts are lying vacant with CCL namely; Director (Tech) and Directror (Pers). CCL is a Category-I Mini-Ratna Company since October 2007. As per the data available for FY 2009-10, it produces coal to the tune of approx 47.08 million tones and has a net worth of Rs. 2644 crore against a paid-up capital of Rs. 940 crore. It operates 58 mines (21 Underground & 37 Opencast mines) across 06 Coalfields (East Bokaro, West Bokaro, North Karanpura, South Karanpura, Ramgarh & Giridih). It runs 07 Washeries (including cooking & non-cooking coal units) as well.
