Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the list of secretary empanelment of 1983 batch IAS officer would be issued in the third week of July - maybe before the monsoon session of parliament which will start on July 18. It is also learnt that, in the case of secretary empanelment missing its timeline of July third week, then it will take place on the last Friday of this month. Though the names of 31 officers may finally appear on the empanelment list, the low number of Additional Secretary empanelment (32 IAS officers of 1986 batch empanelled as AS/equivalent) has shaken the confidence of those waiting for their turn to be empanelled as secretary. The 1983 batch officers have started joking that the worst they could expect is 18 officers on the list and the best they could expect would be 24. One may like to recall that the secretary empanelment of 1982 batch IAS officers took place on 23 June 2015 whereas 1981 was empanelled on 28 July 2014.
