New Delhi (03.03.2025): The New Delhi establishment on Monday assigned the additional charge of the post of Secretary, DARE to Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS: 1989: UP); the incumbent Secretary Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Secretary, DARE advises the Govt of India on all policy matters relating to agricultural research and education while in the capacity of DG, ICAR heads the apex national organisation for conducting and coordinating research and education in agriculture including animal sciences and fisheries.
The post of Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and DG, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) fell vacant after ace scientist Dr Himanshu Pathak moved to take over as DG, ICRISAT (Hyderabad).
International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), a critically important international organisation, was founded by M. S. Swaminathan, an Indian agronomist, geneticist, administrator and humanitarian, in 1972.
The Centre has already put the post of Secretary, DARE on offer January this week.
