Saraswati Prasad may be elevated (In-situ) as Addl Secy, MDWS

Indianmandarins has learnt that Saraswati Prasad (IAS:1985:AM) may shortly be elevated (in situ) as Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation (MDWS). In an order dated December 07, the Government has called for empaneling officers for posting as Additional Secretary. Prasad is currently serving as Jt Secretary (MDWS).
At present the MDWS does not have any sanctioned post of Additional Secretary. However, the same may be created shortly. Reportedly, the Department of Expenditure has already approved the creation of the new post and it is due to be ratified by the appointments committee of cabinet (ACC).
