Subject to requisite clearances and final approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Saleem Ahmad will succeed Pradeep Gaur, who retired on August 31, 2025. 

As an interim arrangements Sukhmal Chand Jain (IRSE, 1988), holds the additional charge of CMD post of RVNL. S C Jain, Advisor (L&A) in the Railway Board, would continue as CMD RVNL till the ACC ratifies PESB recommendation for Saleem Ahmed.
