New Delhi (15.07.2021): The New Power House (NPH) of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) will play a crucial role in the power evacuation system for the 2x20 MW New Power Plant (NPP) of Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP). This powerhouse will receive power from the NPP at 33 KV level, stepping it down at 11 KV level. This 11 KV power will be fed for operations at Blast Furnaces, Coke Ovens, Steel Melting Shop, Mill Pump House and Old Power Plant.

Providing emergency power supply to the Coke, Iron, and Steel Zone of the DSP, the New Power House is facilitated with 33 KV and 11 KV switchboards, four numbers of 10 MVA and two numbers of 1 MVA transformers with SCADA system for islanding and load shedding scheme.
