New Delhi (03.08.2023): Ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls the NaMo administration on Thursday extended the tenure of Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba (IAS: 1982:JH) for a further period of one year beyond 30.08.2023. Gauba will continue as Cabinet secretary till 30.08.2024.

The Govt relaxed the AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958 and Rule 56(d) of the Fundamental Rules to formalise his extension.
