Indianmandarins has learnt that the new DG Postal's name may be announced by the end of this month. May it be noted that of two Apex scale posts in Dept of Posts, one has been lying vacant since 01st February 2017 following the retirement of T Murthy who had a mere 30 days stint that ended on January 31, 2017.
The cadre restructuring had brought one more Apex scale post (DG, Postal) to the department. Post cadre restructuring requires that 'Recruitment Rules' (RR) be revised and sanctioned - which is still to be done.
Having got one-time exemption in residency period post-cadre restructuring, Ashutosh Tripathy became the first DG Postal which was further held by T Murty for only 30 days.
