Resignation of Anand Mishra not accepted; on administrative leave

Guwahati (16.01.2024): The Assam Government has not accepted the resignation of Anand Mishra (IPS: 2011: AM) so far, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police in Lakhimpur. Mishra had tendered his resignation seeking to be effective from January 16, 2024.

Earlier, Anand Mishra was placed at the disposal of the Government of Manipur to take charge of the SITs constituted for Manipur incidents. Meanwhile, Anand Mishra has been reportedly attached to police headquarters until he does not clearly state the reason for his resignation. A senior officer getting attached to police headquarters means forcing him to go on administrative leave till a decision or inquiry on him is pending.
