Rajasthan DGP seeks VRS, Lather tipped as next DGP

It has come to the fore that Rajasthan's DGP Bhupendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1986:RJ) has sought VRS. He started his stint as DGP on 30 June 2019 and was supposed to continue till June 2021 but he decided to quit midway.

The incumbent DGP Yadav met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday (23 Sept) and discussed the matter.

Post Yadav’s meeting with CM speculations have started doing rounds Gehlot is keen to give Yadav an important portfolio post-retirement (VRS). One can't deny the possibility that  BS Yadav may replace Deepak Upreti as the RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) Chairman. Upreti is due for retirement next week.

Reportedly, Mohan Lal Lather (IPS:1986:RJ), the senior-most IPS in the state after BS Yadav, may be drafted as the next DGP of Rajasthan.
