With only three days left for Alok Ranjan (IAS:1978:UP) to retire as Chief Secretary to the Govt of UP, the race for his successor has intensified.
Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Rahul Prasad Bhatnagar (IAS:1983:UP) is fast emerging as a dark horse in the race. This website has already reported that Pravir Kumar (IAS:1982:UP) has brighter prospects as it would be difficult for the Govt to ignore claimants belonging to 1982 batch. Deepak Singhal (IAS:1982:UP) is also in the race but Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav is reportedly not very keen to hand over the command of UP bureaucracy to him.
