Special Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as
the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of South Africa. Dr Irshad Ahmad, presently Counsellor in the Embassy of
India, Muscat, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Syrian
Arab Republic. They are expected to take up the assignment shortly.
