PFC & REC extend financial assistance to Buxar Thermal Power Project

New Delhi (19.10.2022): Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) along with REC Ltd (REC) executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with SJVN Thermal (P) Ltd (STPL) for extending term loan of Rs 8,520.92 Crore for Buxar Thermal Power Project.The 2x660 MW thermal power project is expected to be commissioned by FY 2026-27 and is likely to generate approximately 9828 Million Units of energy to meet the future power requirement of Bihar and other States. The project will generate employment opportunities for the locals and will promote infrastructure development heralding a new era of socio economic prosperity in Bihar. These power projects are driven by a partnership of PSU which falls under the larger ambit of the Ministry of Power.
