New Delhi (27.05.2024): The year 2024 is Lok Sabha election year and in this year of election not just politicians but around a dozen IAS/IPS officers were raided by Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths or some other agencies in various corruption related cases. Some of them were even called to be done under political vendetta. Charges against these officials are from corruption to money laundering.

• A 2002 batch Jharkhand-cadre IAS officer was summoned by ED for questioning in Money laundering case recently.
• Another IAS officer of 2003 batch of Chhattisgarh cadre was arrested by ED and investigations have revealed that the officer played pivotal role in orchestrating the liquor syndicate's activities in Chhattisgarh.
• At least five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in Chhattisgarh are under the scanner of anti-corruption bureau (ACB) of Chhattisgarh over their alleged involvement in the Mahadev betting app case.
• A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 3, 2024 paid a surprise visit to 2015 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre’s residence. The ED recovered Rs 7.25 lakh in cash, 19 cartridges of 9 mm bore, two cartridges of .380 mm and five empty cases of .45 pistol.
• Based on a CBI case ED last Tuesday (21 May) raided the premises of former Union Secretary (DPIIT) after registering a money laundering case.
